Every child served by Court Appointed Special Advocates of Troup County (CASA) has experienced abuse and neglect and has been placed in foster care. Often, they are living in an unfamiliar place and going to a new school. They may have to make new friends or adjust to a new family. Through no fault of their own, their entire life has been turned upside down.

All kids just want to be kids. Children in foster care are no exception. They don't want to be "the foster kid." They don't want to be asked why their family looks different, they want to be asked what sports they play or what is their favorite subject at school. They don't want you to know about the abuse and trauma they experienced, they want you to know about their favorite video game or how excited they are for their ballet recital or summer camp.

At CASA of Troup County, we believe that children in foster care deserve to have experiences like every other kid. When they participate in pro-social activities, celebrate birthdays and holidays, or shop for new clothing, they feel like every other kid and not just the "foster kid." For this reason, we would like to start a "Let a Kid be a Kid" fund to help pay for sports and club fees, uniforms, equipment, and other "kid stuff".

Please consider a donation and help our kids be kids so that next time someone asks them "what do you do for fun?", they will have a really great answer.

Please consider making a donation today to ensure children in foster care have opportunities for joy.
